The problem with such quests is that one tends to uncover more than they’ve bargained for.
The Truth According to Us is the new novel by Annie Barrows. Her previous book, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, sold around 6 million copies worldwide and was co-written with her aunt Mary Ann Shaffer. Annie was in Australia to promote her new book, and had just concluded a panel discussion at the Melbourne Writers Festival when I caught up with her by phone.
